As Out of the Park Baseball continues to grow and reach new fans, we’ve needed to expand our team so we can handle the various ways we interact with you. As part of that expansion, we recently added Kris Jardine, Associate Community Manager for OOTP, to our roster. Here’s what he has to say.
OOTP 17 is the ultimate sandbox game for baseball fans – and it’s so big, we sometimes receive suggestions from new fans as well as longtime players about new and interesting ways to jump in and play. With that in mind, here are five really cool “hardball sandcastles” you can build, in no particular order.
And don’t forget that you can mix and match just about any options you want to create a unique experience that few baseball fans have ever seen!
Yes, Out of the Park Baseball will enter its 16th year with something it has never had before: An official license from Major League Baseball Advanced Media, which covers MLB.com and MiLB (Minor League Baseball). OOTP 16, which is available for pre-order now at $34.99, will have AL, NL, and MLB logos, as well as logos for all MLB and MiLB teams, all MiLB leagues, and even all historical MLB teams. (It will also offer Opening Day 2015 rosters new leagues, new owner goals, a new managers and coaches system, and much more.)

Markus Offers His Thoughts
So how’d this come about? I grabbed lead developer and game creator Markus Heinsohn for a few questions while he was taking a break from feverishly coding OOTP 16.
Last month, we decided to turn to our loyal fans and see if you could help us come up with a promotional tagline that would sum up our company as the publisher of great sports management games. Over 250 of you sent in entries, and many of them had multiple suggestions (one person sent us about 50 ideas spread across several entries). We thank all of you for your thoughts.
We waded through the hundreds of taglines that were suggested and came up with a top 10 for internal discussion:

- “Your Fantasy is our Reality”
- “The Road to Legend Starts With You”
- “Your Only Limitation Is Your Imagination”
- ” Where Awesomeness meets Realism”

- “Imagine Your Dynasty”
- “The Next Best Thing to Real”
- “We Make YOU The Franchise”
Everyone who works for OOTP Developments voted, and we cut that list in half before settling on the winner:

Today we unveiled Beyond the Sideline Football’s logo and start screen. As our stable of sports management games grows, we realized that we need a great tagline to pull them together. (Kind of like The Big Lebowski’s rug, only without the soiling part.)
We thought about it a lot, and we realized that “We Make the Best Sports Management Games on the Planet” didn’t have the right ring. Markus’ suggestion, “Bow Down Before Us,” wasn’t quite right either.
